The Perfect Paragraph

The first thing that he uses is imagery followed by a logical argument. Using this imagery he controls the emotions of the audience.  He understands this is an emotional issue, and uses this to his advantage to connect with his audience in a really nice way. In this passage he appeals to the other side of the argument with this…
“For whatever reasons, Heaps right now is lost in a fog. He has the better arm, the better upside, the better form. But he has backed up in his progression. Nearly everyone, myself included, mistakenly thought this season was his time to step into the role of a confident passer, to take control of an offense that seemed perfectly suited for him.”
Here he puts himself in the story, he shows that Heaps is not doing well, what everyone already knows, which he doesn’t denied  and shows that once upon a time he also thought the same way as most readers are feeling; that heaps needs to be benched. He shows this to appeal and gain the trust of the reader.  With this he puts the reader off guard and gains respect as an author which will open the opinions and the minds of the reader.  This was a very good strategy which will allow him to slowly move his opinion more freely.

  1. I would have to agree, the perfect paragraph. Looks like you know what you're doing when it comes to Rhetoric and analyzing it.
